How do I get started with Kernow Connect?
To get started, contact us at
info@kernowconnect.co.uk. We'll set up your family account and send you a secure magic link to access the app. No passwords required!
How do I upload a receipt?
Once logged in, navigate to the "Upload Expense" page. You can either take a photo using your device's camera or select an existing image from your gallery. Our OCR technology will automatically extract the amount and date from your receipt.
What file formats are supported for bank statements?
We support both image files (JPG, PNG, HEIC) and PDF documents for bank statement uploads. Files are organized by month for easy tracking.
How does the mileage calculator work?
Enter your starting and ending postcodes, and our system will calculate the distance and generate a receipt at £0.45 per mile. You'll also see a route map for verification.
Is my data secure?
Absolutely. We use bank-level encryption and security measures. Your data is isolated to your family account, and we employ Row Level Security policies to ensure your information remains private and secure.
Can I access Kernow Connect on multiple devices?
Yes! Kernow Connect is a progressive web app that works on any device with a web browser. You can access it from your phone, tablet, or computer. For the best mobile experience, you can also install it as an app on your device.
What happens if a receipt is challenged?
For Managed families, if a receipt is challenged, you'll receive a notification and can view comments from your coordinator. You can respond to the challenge through the app's comment system to provide additional information or clarification.
How do I view my budget status?
Managed families can view their real-time budget status on the dashboard. You'll see category-based spending breakdowns, remaining balance, and progress indicators for your current budget period.

Camera Access
To use the camera feature for receipt capture, you'll need to grant camera permissions when prompted. If you accidentally denied access, you can enable it in your device settings.
